Pima County will host a job fair today, Nov. 13. The Kino Veterans’ Workforce Center will put on the event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kino Event Center, 2805 E. Ajo Way. More than 40 employers will recruit at the event. Industries represented include: Construction, manufacturing, government, transportation, aviation, call centers and warehousing. All veterans — except those with dishonorable discharges — are eligible for veterans’ employment services. Active-duty service members transitioning within six months of discharge also qualify. 

Shop a book sale to support the Arizona State Museum library 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, on the lawn in front of the Arizona State Museum, 1013 E. University Ave. in Tucson. All remaining stock will be 1/2 price on Saturday afternoon. Details.

Survival and Resistance, a memorial project honoring Tucson southside’s organizing against trichloroethylene (TCE) groundwater contamination, has a series of upcoming events. On Nov. 14, local author Lydia Otero and former Arizona Daily Star reporter Jane Kay will be in conversation to launch the exhibit “Living with Injury” at Tucson’s Museum of Contemporary Art. The Old Pueblo Trolley Transit Museum will celebrate 100 years of bus service, and 50 years of Sun Tran, with free admission to an open house on Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 250 E. 36th St. The event includes lectures at 11:30 and 1:30 p.m. 

Help our most vulnerable by assembling care packages with the Multidisciplinary Outreach Team through the City of Tucson. Sign up to volunteer on the following Saturdays from 9-11 a.m. — Nov. 15 and Dec. 13. The team distributes care packages year-round to our most vulnerable neighbors.
