APACHE COUNTY — As Arizona readies itself for a contentious midterm election, voters in remote, windswept Apache County are hoping this time will be different.
The mammoth county is known for pine-topped mountains and rolling high desert hills. It’s also home to a large swath of the country’s largest Native American reservation — the Navajo Nation, which makes up its northern half.
