A Long Way Home Part 3: Yesenia has been bleeding heavily for two weeks.
She’s standing atop a tank car, part of a long train muscling its way from Coatzacoalcos toward Mexico City. In each hand, she grips a fistful of gravel. Yexander, 10, and Milagros, 6, stay close, curled on the small platform, asleep next to their mother. The darkness is impenetrable, and the dense tropical jungle seems to close in on the tracks.
