2025 Bilingual Breast Cancer Conference: On Saturday, October 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the annual VIDA – Breast Cancer Bilingual Conference 2025 on breast cancer awareness will take place at El Pueblo Neighborhood Center, 101 W Irvington Rd. BLDG 1, Tucson. The free event is organized by United Hearts of Arizona/Corazones Unidos de Arizona and María Vianey Valdez Flores, CEO and founder. Specialized doctors will share information on prevention, care, pain management, nutrition, and mental well-being. There will also be a special presentation by breast cancer survivors. A great opportunity to educate ourselves about a disease that strongly affects the Latino community!

The Community Foundation for Southern Arizona wants to know how young professionals engage with the nonprofit sector. Take their new “Young Professionals in Philanthropy” survey about board service, volunteering, and giving; your input will guide programs that better connect you with local nonprofits. If you’re 18–49, add your voice at cfsaz.org/survey by Friday, Oct. 10.

The City of Tucson Parks and Recreation department has announced a 45-day public comment period for a proposal to rename Joaquin Murrieta Park on the west side to Salomón R. Baldenegro Park. Read the proposal and submit a comment by Friday, Oct. 27 online here or by mail.
