Sen. Bernie Sanders will host a rally at Catalina High School in Tucson Saturday with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rep. Greg Casar, of Texas.
Sanders, an independent from Vermont, and Ocasio-Cortez, a Democrat from New York are traveling the country hosting rallies called “Fighting Oligarchy.”
They spoke in Las Vegas and Tempe Thursday.
“We are doing that because this country faces enormous crises,” Sanders said about their appearances together while speaking in Las Vegas. “And so today we are here to say — very loudly and clearly — no we will not accept an oligarchic form of society where a handful of billionaires run the government. No we will not accept an authoritarian form of society with a president who undermines the constitution every day and is working aggresively to take away our freedom of speech and freedom of assembly.”
Doors open for the event at 10:30 a.m. and speakers begin at 11:30 a.m. Register here.
