The University of Arizona is one of the largest employers in Southern Arizona and its workers — faculty and staff — are state employees, which means salaries are a matter of public interest and public record.

Arizona Luminaria obtained this salary data via a public records request and put it in this searchable database. You can search by name, department or title in the search box.

You can also sort each column, to see, for example, a list starting with the highest-paid UA employee (it’s basketball coach Tommy Lloyd).

Some things to note

This data was originally compiled by the University of Arizona. If a category existed in one year and not others we have used N/A, or “not available” to denote the missing data. For example, 2023 and 2024 include “original hire date” while 2019-2022 have “first hire date.” Earlier years also don’t include most hourly pay rates or full FTE salary.

The “annual salary” category is how much an employee was paid for the number of hours they worked. Full-time equivalent or FTE, is the calculation of how many hours an employee works — 1.00 is full time. Only their primary department is listed and the hourly pay rate is the rate in that primary department. Employees may hold positions in other departments. While these positions may not be listed, the pay is included in their annual salary. A university-wide furlough is reflected in Fiscal Year 2021 data and appears as a decrease in salary for those making above $44,500.

The university’s Fiscal Year 2026 began on July 1, 2025 and will end on June 30, 2026. Salary data for FY 2026 was collected in October 2025.
