Stephanie Casanova is a Report for America corps member covering environmental justice and the Colorado River for Arizona Luminaria. Stephanie’s reporting position is part of a new partnership with the High Country News Western Environmental Collaborative (WERC). A bilingual journalist from Tucson she has been covering community stories for more than 10 years, centering the people most harmed by whatever issue she's reporting on. She has reported for Prism, CALO News, Somos Tucson, Conecta Arizona, Signal Cleveland, The Chicago Tribune and the Arizona Daily Star, covering mostly immigration and criminal justice. In her free time, you can find Stephanie dancing salsa, reading a romance novel or hiking with her dog, Solito.
